A Cuban Summer in Germany
Cuban concert music full of colour, rhythm and a history of its own.

Concept
Ein kubanischer Sommer in Deutschland opens a window onto a side of Cuba that reaches far beyond familiar dance rhythms: its rich tradition of concert and chamber music. Works from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries enter into dialogue with contemporary compositions, revealing a musical culture in which European forms, Afro-Caribbean roots and an unmistakable sound language of its own come together.
The programme is a discovery for audiences and presenters alike: passionate and nuanced, accessible yet full of subtlety. It speaks of cultural encounters, memory and renewal—and brings to the stage a repertoire that sparks curiosity and resonates long afterwards.
