L’art de la flûte traversière
The art of the traverso: a resonant journey through eighteenth-century Europe and its musical ideals.

InstrumentationTraverso · Harpsichord
Durationapprox. 60–75 minutes
Concept
L’art de la flûte traversière places the traverso at the centre—an instrument that became one of the most refined voices in European music during the eighteenth century. The programme moves through French elegance, German depth of expression and Italian virtuosity.
The historical instrument appears not as a museum object, but as an immediate, speaking voice: lyrical, rhetorical, brilliant and shaped by intimate colours.
